He’s an absolute doll on the ground, with a wonderfully curious personality. He wants to be a part of everything you do — whether it’s some ring work, a trail ride out, or reading a book on his “couch-like figure” while he munches on grass — he loves it all! Cooper (more fondly known as Coopie around the barn) is broke in every way. You can count on him being the same horse every time you pull him out, and the first horse to greet you in the field. He rides Western and English, and he has a slow walk, trot, and canter both ways in the ring. He has lovely transitions for his size, and he responds to voice signals very well. This boy will walk around on a loose rein all day, or pick up and go when he’s asked. He’s happy to tote beginners around the ring for their first lesson, or jump around a little with someone more advanced! He’s been started lightly over jumps, both in the ring and out XC. What you see in the video is the most jumping we’ve done with him so far due to him still maturing — but you’d never believe how athletic he’s able to be! He’s honest and straight to the jump — with no wiggly business — and he takes the jumps like a boss. With more time, this guy could easily be out fox hunting and doing paper chases like it’s a breeze. On the trails, Cooper is the go-to for guests or nervous riders. He takes every step carefully and calmly, making sure to give his rider confidence along the way. You can hack out in open fields, through windy, tight woods, or right into the river! He absolutely loves water and puts his whole head under to blow bubbles. He also doubles as a diving board! (Watch the video lol.) This boy has such a big personality and constantly keeps a smile on everyone’s face. He’s a joy to have in the barn in every way, with zero vices. We have done lots of desensitization with Coop — you can crack a whip off of him, blow bubbles in his face, walk him through fire, or drive him right down the busy road with semis flying by. He’s even joined in on our pool parties! He thinks the pool tubes are toys, and while his lack of fear might not work in the wild — it’s what every amateur dreams of! On the ground, Cooper is just as good as he is under saddle. Spend the day grooming and pampering him — he will stand still and soak up every second. If he’s not searching you for cookies, he’s begging for scratches and attention. He loves people — and even the kids can groom him and lead him around. He’s safe, quiet, and sensible — he’d make a fantastic addition to any family! He loads up with no hesitation, is the first to come in from the field, and has no bad stall habits. He’s behaved for the farrier, vet, and dentist, and he’s a rockstar in every way! We can’t say enough good things about this young horse — if you didn’t know his age, you’d think he’s been around the sun at least 30 times!
