About this horse

$8,500 USD NEGOTIABLE Disciplines: Intermediate Rider Recommended, Rodeo, Trail Riding, Western ⭐️LONSUN RUSTYREDSUGAR⭐️ 2017 Bay Roan Quarter Horse Gelding Just over 15.1 hands ‘Festus’ is the amazing all around gelding you’ve been searching for! He’s been my main all around guy for the past three years. I’ve never had one discipline I chose, I just tried everything with him. He’s done lots of arena work, as I love to work on horsemanship. We’ve been on trails, run barrels and poles, and done quite bit of heading. Although he is not trained on barrels or roping, the potential is there if you did want to take him that route. I’ve hauled him to many different arenas for open rides, practice ropings, and things like that, so he’s been exposed to loud arenas. Festus is a really smooth ride, and he’s super laid back, but he does have a motor if you ask him so I would not consider him to be a kid’s or beginner’s horse. He has a nice handle, and he loves to work. He isn’t easily spooked, but he’s not completely bombproof. There have been very few incidents where he has spooked, and he isn’t jumpy or flighty. Stands tied, loads and unloads, trailers no problem. Will stand for the farrier all day, no issues. At the moment he is barefoot, and does great, but he has had shoes before and goes well shod too. He’s on a trimming schedule and gets hauled to the farrier every 6-8 weeks, gets dewormed on schedule, teeth floated once a year, and also gets a chiropractic adjustment every few months. Super easy keeper, he stays on pasture in the spring and summer and gets hay in the fall and winter. Stays fat all year round. Catch him no problem, he loves attention and will come running when called, and stands quietly when you halter him. He tacks up no problem, brush him all over and he has no problem with it. He’s been exposed to dogs, cats, cows, goats, sheep, chickens, nothing could bother him. He loves kids and is extremely gentle. I’ve gone underneath him and hugged him from behind, he couldn’t care less. Zero kick, zero bite. He’s not cinchy or headshy. He stands at just over 15.1 hands. Someone could really take him to new heights- he has so much potential and the heart to do it, not to mention amazing bloodlines. Only letting him go due to life circumstances, I just don’t have the time that I think he needs to be his happiest. Serious inquiries only, more photos upon request. Happy to answer any questions you might have about him. Papers are in hand and he is registered with AQHA under my name, will fill out transfer papers when sold. The tack I have for him is also for sale. He will only go to a good home. Located just outside Mountain Home Arkansas, not far from Springfield Missouri or Memphis Tennessee.
