Name: Dusty Age: approx 12 Height: 13.2 hh approx Location: Millersburg, OH Rider Skill Level: Advanced Intermediate and above UTD on vaccines, deworming, coggins, teeth, and feet. No soundness issues. Share with a friend! Dusty is beautiful 12 year old Pintaloosa (Appaloosa x Paint) pony who is looking for a new home! ... ( read more ) She WTC on the lunge line and I’ve seen her do really smooth lead changes in turn out. She will stand tied perfectly all day long. She is super at picking up her feet and stands for the blacksmith. She bathes and takes fly spray. She stands to tack and bridle but can be a little cinchy. She rides in the arena, on the trails, and does all of the obstacles. She has not bucked, reared, or kicked. She is not spooky, gets along in the herd, and pastures great with no signs of laminitis. Dusty has good potential as an English pony for flat work and trails. ? She seems most comfortable in English tack although could maybe get along in a very small western saddle. Her ideal person is someone that will love her, be kind to her, be fair, and patient. I think she will be a completely different horse with 6 mos of time with someone who works with her. She would be ok with teenagers or small adults. ❤️ Dusty has had some rough handling at some point in her life. She also wore an ill fitting saddle for a long time. It takes her time to trust new people and new tack. She can be a little flinchy depending on what you are doing. She will also pin her ears and tell you how she feels. She can be hard to catch but I haven’t had much trouble with it since her pasture mates are really friendly and she comes up to the gate with them. Dusty is not suitable for little kids or beginners mainly because she has been hot rodded and ran home. The main thing we have been working on is a calm walk under saddle. She will also trot and canter but we haven’t worked on those gaits as much. I have had her on a couple of small trail rides on days that she is calmer. She also did super well seeing all of the obstacles for the first time! Reason for selling is the owner doesn’t have time for her anymore. This is the kind of horse that will make you work for it. She is forward but the challenge is getting her to relax and trust. This is the horse that helps every rider be a better and more fair horseman… she can definitely test one’s patience.
