(read more ) Blue Moon, or Blue as we often call him, is a 6-year-old blue roan draft gelding that stands 16.1 hands. You will search many years before you come across a horse who is as versatile as Blue is. He rides english, western, bareback, bridleless, liberty, and drives. Many say that their horse is a "once in a lifetime" horse, but Blue is the real deal. He is a standout, exemplary individual. Blue is broke enough for any level rider, as well as riders of any age. He has training that advanced riders will love, yet he is honest enough to take care of beginner riders. Blue is the literal go to horse in my barn for every person in my family. Everyone enjoys riding him and loves his disposition. Blue has been ridden by all ages of riders and has performed remarkably well with each individual. We are not afraid to turn the kids loose with him! My 4-year-old nephew can confidently lead Blue around with his little sister in the saddle and can ride Blue by himself without problem. My older nieces (8-12 years old) have loved taking him out on the trails and have gained so much experience in the saddle with him. I have owned Blue for one year and have genuinely enjoyed the time I have spent training him. Blue is as gentle as he is versatile. He will excel in any direction he is taken. Blue is comfortable with the kids playing and dogs rough housing around him. He is used to all types of noises and machinery, from lawn mowers to semis, Blue has seen it all. He has been used around all types of farm equipment as well. Blue is comfortable with a tarp, crosses logs and bridges, isn't bothered by the crack of a bull whip, and entertains all of the shenanigans that we get into when playing with the little kids. Even after extended time off, you can bring him out of the stall or pasture, saddle him up and ride off without any problems. Blue stalls well, gets along well with other horses in the pasture, is easy to catch, and is an all-around pleasure to spend time with. He is used to small pets, wildlife, as well as other small and large livestock. He will stand to be groomed and tacked with or without cross ties. He also side passes to the fence or mounting block to be mounted. For his size, he is very athletic and carries himself exceptionally. He is great in the arena, on the trail, in town amongst traffic, and anywhere else you could think of taking him. Blue correctly picks up his leads on cue, pivots, would side pass across a football field, has a nice extended trot, and lopes gorgeous circles. Blue is the horse I would trust anyone with, he is absolutely safe. Whether you want to trail ride through the Rocky Mountains, perform in the english show pen, or hitch him to a carriage in New York City, Blue is fully capable of doing it all. This gelding has a habit of exceeding all of your expectations and could be considered the 8th Wonder of the World! There are few horses who you can truthfully turn loose with anyone, even fewer who can perform in so many disciplines, excelling in each. It seems like no matter how many great things are said, we barely scrape the surface of describing Blue. The way he looks is only the cherry on top! There are an endless number of things to say about his training, his good nature, and how much I think of him. Blue is great for the veterinarian and farrier. He wears a #5 shoe on the fronts and a #4 shoe on the rears and has good feet. Blue has a pre-purchase exam on file.
