He is green for his age and more of a push ride at home, benefiting from a consistent program and a soft rider. He has been ridden both English and western. His canter is coming along slowly but correctly. We are currently focusing on developing a more engaged, balanced canter and introducing small jumps as part of his continued education. He also just had a recent outing to a XC course! Cappy is a sensitive type who responds best to light, consistent aids. With heavy hands or excessive pressure, he can become overwhelmed, so he is best suited for an experienced rider or confident amateur working with a trainer. At times his steering can be a bit stiff, particularly if he is unsure or tired, but he improves drastically with consistency and he is currently coming back into work full time. He can be a little looky but has never offered to buck, rear, bolt, or display any dangerous behavior since I’ve owned him.
