About this horse

$12,500 USD Disciplines: 4H, Drill Team, Husband-Safe, Mounted Patrol, Ranch Work, Trail Class Competition, Trail Riding, Western Riding, Working Cattle, Youth Sedona is an attractive 5-year-old, 14.3 buckskin mare with good conformation and nice sized feet. Perfect size for easy on and off! This is a very good-natured mare that acts more like a gelding. She has a great work ethic and is one you can saddle up in a hurry, hop on and go get a job done on. This mare always saddles up gentle and has never gotten fresh or offered to hump up or buck regardless of how much time off she’s had. She has plenty of go but is not hot. Good one hand neck rein and moves off your hand and leg cues well. Smooth jog and lopes out on cue. Takes her leads, has a good stop and will back and side pass with ease as well. Sedona is an outstanding trail horse that’s equally good to ride around our busy neighborhood. She handles the fast-passing vehicles, the local mini farm animals and the usual neighborhood dogs that always try to ambush us as we ride by. When riding out on our mountain trails Sedona will have a good paced kind of walk. She will happily lead, follow, ride in the middle of a group as well as out on her own. She is really tolerant about other horses tailgating her and doesn’t get cranky or retaliate. Crosses the river and has swam in the river as well. Crosses deadfall, creeks, bridges, ditches and other trail obstacles. She is really sure footed and dependable in steep terrain and picks her way through the rocky river bottom like a pro. Sedona has also been used on the ranch to work and move cattle. We feel that Sedona would work very well for the avid trail rider, Drill Team, Ranch Sorting, or 4-H Gymkhana shows. Stands tied quietly, is good for the farrier, good to bathe, tack up and mount. Loads and hauls great as well. She is currently shod but goes barefoot as well. Gets along well turned out with the other geldings. Sedona has no vices or bad habits of any kind and is 100% safe, sane and sound!
