( read more ) He has been shown in reining classes and handled the show environment well. He neck reins, rides one-handed, and is very responsive to his rider. Chicken is a sweet-natured horse that enjoys attention and wants to do the right thing. He is an athletic and capable gelding with a lot of ability and would make a great partner for someone who enjoys a responsive horse. He is best suited for an advanced intermediate to experienced rider, as he is a sensitive horse and does best with a confident, quiet rider who can help build his confidence. He is kind and willing but not recommended for beginners. Prior to my ownership he was used as a pack horse. While I have primarily focused on arena work and showing him in reining, he has been exposed to a variety of environments and continues to gain confidence with consistent handling. Etalon DNA testing indicates strong genetic similarity to Frenchman’s Guy performance bloodlines, including relation to PC Frenchmans Heyday and MP Meter My Hayday.
