(read more) Had 30 days of saddle preparation prior to starting under saddle. Will complete her 60 days of professional training under saddle on October 25th. With the option to keep her in training for a full 90 days at a discounted training price if someone is interested in her now. Whimzy is an absolute doll!! If anyone is looking for a cute, quirky, and solid dispositioned Half Arabian mare, this is your girl! Whimzy will have a full 60 days of professional training ending on October 25th. She has been LIGHTLY started, instilling a solid foundation on the ground, as well as a great start under saddle. She has been taken a few shorter trail rides since. She's had 30 days of saddle preparation prior to being started under saddle which consists of being ponied out on trails, on the road around traffic to get that experience ahead of time. She's had technically 90 days of training, but only 60 under saddle. She will not be difficult to finish out or continue adding miles on for someone that doesn't mind finishing them or has experience. She is perfect size for a lightweight rider or youth mount. She is fancy, typey, and absolutely beautiful! She would be best for an intermediate rider or rider with a trainer to complete her training / continue adding miles & experience. She will continue to stay in training where she is at and be ridden until sold. More information: ♦️ Has been hauled quite a bit / loads/hauls really well. Both in a stock & slant. ♦️ Good for the farrier ♦️ Recently had her teeth floated (September 29th) ♦️ Knows how to lunge both ways / switch ♦️ Has had thorough desensitization & groundwork ♦️ Respectful on the ground ♦️ Has had a ton of tying time and ties patiently ♦️ Is NOT buddy sour ♦️ Rides out alone ♦️ Stands for tacking/untacking ♦️ Stands for mounting/dismounting ♦️ Was originally started in a knot halter and transitioned into a snaffle bit. ♦️ Can be ridden in a knot halter or bridle ♦️ At a W/T/C but canter needs more work (not focusing on a canter right now) ♦️ Has great neck flexion and has been trained for one-rein stops ♦️ Has been ridden bareback without issue ♦️ Lets you swing up onto her from the ground to get on her bareback ♦️ Has been trail ridden ♦️ Has been brought down to Zumbro Bottoms and will be going again on the 18th of this month. Roughly a two-hour round trip of hauling. ♦️ Steps up onto and goes over obstacles and objects on the ground ♦️ Doesn't mind music being played from behind her (off of a phone when riding). ♦️ Does great being ridden by other horses and hasn't offered any behaviors towards them ♦️ Only offered a few crow hops when being started under saddle on the ground being lunged in a round pen but has not offered any bad behaviors since being started under saddle. ♦️ Crosses mud & water ♦️ LOVES water, any kind, doesn't matter where it's at (Including puddles) ♦️ Has been ponied by another horse as well as ponied out on trails & on gravel roads ♦️ Has been ponied by an ATV almost every day (for her grain time) from the pasture to her grain spot and back. ♦️ Doesn't mind traffic and is used to all sorts of machinery, vehicles, ATV's (We have a very chaotic farm) ♦️ Has been blanketed, has worn fly masks without issue. ♦️ Doesn't mind fly spray ♦️ Has had exposure to goats, cows, machinery, vehicles, ATV's, fire/smoke, chainsaws (in the pasture with the herd), gunshots (on the property), dogs (we have loud and chaotic dogs around her all the time and up close). ♦️ Is currently in a herd of 20 horses. We have a pretty rough herd of primarily horses that were born here and aren't very friendly to newcomers. She would do best in a smaller herd or at least one with easier going horses. She is used to being with both mares & geldings. ♦️ Prefers humans over horses and doesn't really have any friends here (that can definitely change in a new herd/home). ♦️ Was said that she was hard to catch upon coming here but she is not hard to catch at all here. Things to consider: ♦️ Whimzy has this tongue thing where she likes to stick it out and let it just hang there. Now, she came to me like this, I had it checked by our vet and our vet doesn't see anything of concern and thinks it's just a "quirk". I've noticed she does this most when she is uncomfortable, in a new setting, or is seeking comfort of some sort. I believe it's a "sensory/stim" type of deal. While she doesn't do it all of the time, she does it often enough this may impact her if she was going into a show home. Otherwise, it is really cute and it's hard not to fall in love with her/find her an absolute goon. ♦️ She would do best in a knot halter, bitless bridle, or hackamore. She was doing fine in training with a bit but after she figured out how she could slip her tongue over the bit to stick it out of her mouth and make herself uncomfortable because of that, I think she would just do best without a bit altogether so she can do her thing. But this is a personal preference thing and something that will need trial and error to find what works out best! Anywho, this is Whimzy!
