About this horse

SOLD Skills: Gaited, Ridden Western, Trail, Trail Riding Cash is a handsome Kentucky Mountain gelding that loves to go! He is about 15.2 hh tall, 9 years old, sorrel with a white star and small splashes of white on his back feet. He is always full of energy. Will ride out alone or in a group. He has super smooth gaits and is a fast walker. Definitely more go than whoa. Never takes much to ask him to pick up the pace or trot out for you. He does need some work so he would need an experienced handler. He can be pushy on the ground and doesn't always stand tied very well. Gets bored pretty quick. He struggles to stand still while being tacked up and gets riled up when mounting. As soon as you hit the saddle he's a gentleman and easy to handle. I've had my younger brother on him who doesn't ride much and he was totally controllable. Just takes more effort to get on him than most horses. I had him to the point where he would stand quietly to be tacked up and mounted last summer but then I moved away for awhile and he didn't get ridden much and went back to his old ways. I am busy planning my wedding and traveling and haven't been able to put the times into him that he needs. Not fancy trained at all... backs, sometimes will pick up on neck reining but wouldn't fully rely on it. He's fine riding bareback as well... just is a little difficult to get on because he's tall and doesn't stand still. Also does pretty good bitless. He has so much potential with someone that can put time and consistency into him. He learns new things super fast... I taught him to give fist bumps and hugs in about 15 minutes:) He loves attention and will follow you all around the pasture. Occasionally plays hard to catch if he sees the rope but usually is pretty simple to catch. Feet trimmed and teeth floated August 27. Picks up his feet. Loads fine but doesn't back out of a trailer. Only reason I'm selling him is because I'm getting married and moving and won't be able to take him with me. Asking $2,300. Cash only for payment. Shipping Notes Buyer picks up. Just have horses for my own enjoyment and trail riding. No breeding programs or boarding.
