About this horse

$20,000 USD OBO Disciplines: 4H, All-Around Show, Ranch Rail Class, Ranch Riding-Ranch Pleasure, Ranch Trail Class, Ranch Versatility, Ranch Work, Reining, Reining-Cowhorse-Cutting, Rider Level-Amateur Looking for FLASHY?! Long maned, thick tailed, double blue eyes? Well, look no further than.. My Amigos Smoking Gun, affectionally known as Indy is a 2020 15 hand APHA gelding by Generic Gunner (Colonels Smoking Gun) out of a Sonnys Amigo Bar mare. Indy started his life as a Reiner and was lightly shown in the NRHA, competed locally in the Ranch Riding & Ranch Rail, knows the barrel pattern and trail rides by himself, or in a group. Has been hauled to day races & seen the sights. Very smooth in all of his gaits, particularly his lope. Good stop, backup, turn, flying change etc, has awesome upwards and downwards transitions. Sink into your seat and slightly press your heels off and he comes right back to you. Patient and tolerant under saddle, I have coached many different riders at all riding levels on Indy and he has done phenomenal with each. He can really take a joke and is quite forgiving. No buck/bolt/rear/spook etc. Mr. Charismatic himself, Indy’s got LOADS of personality. He will ham out to a nice long grooming session, playtime turnout, if you’ve got a cookie in your pocket…he will find it! Mans best friend…1200 lb version. While he enjoys quality time with people he isn’t a jerk on the ground and knows his place. Fits right in with a herd- is bottom of the pecking order. Not herd bound or sour. No vices- clips, ties, bathes, loads, hauls well. UTD on all farrier, vet, teeth, chiro work, etc. His left hock is fusing (have X-rays), and does need shod upfront when in consistent work. Price reflects this. PPE is more than welcome at buyers expense. Current owner is only selling as she is focusing solely on barrel racing and Indy has more to give in other disciplines. I could see him being a phenomenal local show or 4h mount. Located in Franktown, CO.
