About this horse

SOLD Enzo - Located in LoveLand CO Sorrel gelding aged 7yrs 14.3 hands Lightly Feathered legs, solid sorrel with white star. Sells a grade Not branded All vaccines and Coggins up to date. Health check done. Professional training this summer. Self Loads, stands tied and for Ferrier, picks up feet, leads easy, gives head, comes when called. Is very well trained and well behaved on the ground. ... ( ead more ) Very sweet and loving personality. Can be slightly pushy at first but mellows out once his excitement settles. He is still young. Broke to ride for advanced riders only. Not a husband or kid horse. He has a big motor on him. He likes speed, but only when asked. Exposed to ropes, cattle traffic, motorcycles, heavy equipment, poles barrels. Tarps, flags, cats, dogs. He is not patterned but will go over or through poles and barrels. He has been saddle training this summer and doing a little heel roping. You can throw a rope off of him. He will chase a sled. Have not tied off on him yet, but should not be a problem. Been exposed to steer and cattle. He will walk off and ride out. He direct reins, but does neck rein also but is still learning. Walk trot lope Slide stops Line lunges and free lunges in round pen. He can be in a pen solo or group pasture. He does better in the pasture. High up in the packing order and a little dominant. Very good feet with no issues and he is barefoot at this time, trimming every 4 weeks in summer and 6 weeks in winter. No lameness prior or present. Does take ulcer guard pellets with his feed twice daily now - he was acting cinchy as though he may have an ulcer a few months ago and now seems fine while taking the supplement. You can decide if he needs it, I have not had him scoped. Grain and hay fed. Does best with having pasture. Now the bad and why he is only listed at 3000 and open to offers. He is cold backed and has to be warmed up every ride to get his Ya Ya’s out. He will crow hop and buck on the lunge with saddle on. He gets very excited. He is very well saddle trained. Side passes, slide stops, walk trot lope. His gate is very smooth and comfortable. You float in the saddle. The bad part is that if you are not an advanced or skilled rider he will get frustrated with wrong or confusing cues and start to crow hop, once he starts crow hopping if you don’t have good balance and experience in controlling this type of behavior he will get more intense until he is into a soft buck and knock you off balance and over you go. He is fine in a walk trot, but he mostly does this if pushed past the trot into the lope. If you are an experienced rider he knows it and respects you but if not he will take advantage and try this trick. He is also a Cookie Monster and cannot have treats by hand at anytime because he becomes very aggressive trying to search your hands and pockets for more and it become so overly aggressive at times and he won’t focus on anything but wanting a treat. So he doesn’t get any so he doesn’t behave that way. He is a very good smart horse and has a lot of potential in the right hands. Please contact me with any questions you have and I can send videos.
